What Does Hannah Do Outside of Psychiatry?
Hannah Ray grew up in South Florida, where she received her medical education at Florida State University and Nova Southeastern University. Her passion for psychiatry began early in life after seeing a loved one silently struggle with a psychiatric condition. This personal experience inspired her to become a strong advocate for individuals who feel they cannot seek help due to societal intolerance, cultural expectations, or fear of judgment. Hannah chose psychiatry because she witnessed how proper treatment can completely transform someone’s life and ultimately result in helping them rediscover who they are and return to the activities and relationships that bring them joy. She carries this passion into every encounter, striving to make others feel seen, heard, and supported. Hannah is dedicated to helping each person find hope and a clear path toward becoming the best version of themselves.
Hannah believes that being “okay” isn’t good enough. She wants her patients to get back to their best self and accomplish their goals, live the life they dream of living, and do the things they didn’t think would be an option for them. Her approach is rooted in meeting people exactly where they are, offering compassionate and personalized care. Hannah creates a safe space for adults 18 and older, where they can share openly, feel heard, and know they are not alone. Her goal is to help them to truly thrive and live their best lives. Hannah values collaboration and views treatment as a partnership, guiding each person towards meaningful change while respecting their preferences and needs.
Even as a child, Hannah had a heart for helping others. She recalls running extra laps in PE to support a classmate who was finishing last, simply to make sure they didn’t feel alone. Growing up, friends often confided in her, knowing she would listen without judgment, offer thoughtful advice, and keep their trust. These early experiences shaped the way she helps others today; with empathy, understanding, and a genuine desire to see people succeed. Hannah played competitive volleyball when she was in middle school and high school, which taught her that life is a team sport, and we need others to succeed. Hannah’s goal is to help people feel empowered to take control of their mental health and build the life they want to live. She celebrates their victories, big or small, and encourages them to keep moving forward, even when the journey feels challenging.
